“Level the Ice” is a training and mentorship hockey program that allows boys, born in 2001-2002 and who are registered in boys’ minor hockey, to participate at an elite hockey training free of charge, as the costs are covered by Fulbright Canada. Training will take place in Kanata at the Sensplex from 6-12 July.
There are three eligibility criteria for a player to be nominated:
· He needs to be registered in boys minor hockey in Ottawa or the surrounding area with a birth year of 2001 or 2002;
· He possesses above average hockey ability; and
· Faces an economic disadvantage that poses a challenge to their continued success in the game.
Players need to be nominated by a coach or minor hockey representative that is not a relative or family member, and who can attest that the player fulfills the above mentioned criteria.
The nomination deadline is June 6 and the form and all additional information can be foundon the web-page:http://www.leveltheice.com/.
