BOOK FAIR information:
Our annual Alta Vista Book Fair, featuring Scholastic and Usborne books, is quickly approaching.
The fair will be held Nov.16-18th in the gym.
The Book Fair is a much anticipated event at Alta Vista, and for every $10 spent, up to $6 goes back to our school in the form of books and educational resources for the library and classrooms.
When will your child go to the book fair?
Your child will be visiting the fair with their class on Wednesday or Thursday. Soon each student will receive the Book Fair Brochure. Keep an eye out for it and keep handy for next week to send back with your children if there is a certain book they would like from the brochure.
The fair will also be open on Thursday evening and Friday morning for your convenience.
BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
In order to make the fair a success we need your help. As a Book Fair volunteer you …
- enjoy helping students find appropriate books,
- help them make their book purchases,
- meet other parents,
- get a preview of books,
- see excited student faces and
- make this fun annual fundraising event a success.

HIGH SCHOOL volunteers welcome!: If Students would like to Volunteer during Set up and Clean up they will receive their Community Service hours as well
Available shifts are as follows:
Tuesday Nov. 15th : set-up any time between 4pm-8pm.
Wednesday Nov. 16th: 9-11:30; 11:30-1:30 and 1:30-4:00
Thursday Nov. 17th : 9-11:30, 11:30-1:30- 1:30-4:00, 4-6pm, and 6-8pm
Friday Nov. 18th (PD Day) : 9-12 and clean-up from 12-???? (around 3 or 4pm)
If you can help for one or more shifts please let me know. If you would like too help out with same day double shifts as well that works too.
