Update from School Council as AVPS Community Awaits Air-Quality Results

Requesting Results

We have been in contact with the OCDSB and continue to ask for information in a timely manner. The OCDSB is working with their team to put out a formal report. While we continue to urge them to release what they currently have, we look forward to the formal report with more detailed information when ready.

AVPS Community Shares Knowledge

We have reached out to members of our school community who are knowledgeable in the area of air quality and will work with them to have a more comprehensive list of questions and information requests, particularly ahead of the Nov. 27 info meeting (time and location TBD).

Any concerns?

If you have any concerns, we would be grateful if you would share these concerns with Principal Guido Ronci (guido.ronci@ocdsb.ca) and School Council (altavistasc@gmail.com).

With respect to mould, there doesn’t appear to be any specific indoor air guidelines from Health Canada. Health Canada recommends a thorough remediation of any mould because there are a number of potential contaminants of concern with mould, such as bacteria, fungi and differing sensitivities to respiratory effects.
