Family Art Night – May 18

Alta Vista Public School’s School Council invites OCDSB families to have some fun during a virtual Zentangle workshop on Tuesday, May 18, from 6:30-8:00 pm. Nancy Dean of Practice Making Art and Certified Zentangle Teacher will guide us through a family art project (ages 5 and up). She will introduce you to Zentangle, an easy-to-learn and relaxing method of drawing beautiful images from structured patterns. If you can write your name, you can Zentangle! It is a meditative drawing practice that is as good for you as it is fun!

RSVP online by May 12

Benefits of Zentangle practice:

  • It’s unplugged! Simple pen to paper.
  • It’s meditative and has all the benefits with extra bonuses.
  • It increases self-esteem.
  • It’s not about the outcome; it’s about the unfolding as it is created.
  • There is a world-wide Zentangle community awaiting you.
  • And it’s uniquely yours!

Some wonderful principles:

  • Zentangle is a work-in-progress.
  • There are no mistakes… only opportunities.
  • Anything is possible, one stroke at time.
  • Gratitude.

We hope you can join us!
