Meet the teacher – 4:00 – 5:00 pm
A great chance to see your child’s classroom; meet teachers, staff and other families. Teachers will be sending home more information for each individual class.
BBQ – 4:30 – 6:00 pm
Enjoy BBQ hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks for sale. Tickets for food and drinks will be sold at the BBQ. Please be sure to bring correct change for purchasing items.
Please RSVP using this link with your food preferences – The information from this survey will be used to help us plan for the event.
BBQ delicious food catered by local restaurant HOMETOWN:
- Hamburgers with Beef $4.25
- Veggie Burgers $4.50
- Hotdogs (Beef and Halal) $3.75
- Drinks (juice boxes and soda) $0.50
Dress for the weather! We will have some seating but you are welcome to bring blankets and chairs to the BBQ as well. Paper plates and napkins will be available, but to help reduce food waste, you may bring your own water bottle and plate from home. Water bottles may be filled in the school.
Please note that there is no official supervision of your children after school hours. Please ensure children are supervised as needed.
While you’re at the BBQ:
- Get set for the new school year and show your Alta Vista pride with cozy zip hoodies and sweatpants. Sample Spirit Wear will be available to view and order at the BBQ, with delivery ready by November. Get a preview here!
- Clean out the basement of your winter gear: you can drop off items for the Snow Out Blow Out. The sale/drop off will be at the small gym entrance across from the Tennis courts.

It’s your assistance that makes these events possible and we appreciate it! It is also a great way for High School students to get Volunteer Hours!
Please consider signing up for a 1-hour shift to help make the BBQ a success. We are looking for volunteers to set-up, sell tickets, serve food, and clean-up.
We are also looking for volunteers to help collect items for the Snow Out Blow Out Sale during the BBQ as well as selling items on Saturday, October 1st.
