You are warmly invited to attend School Council’s virtual meeting on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 7-9 pm. All Alta Vista Public School parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.
It’s getting chilly outside, so come warm up with a bowl of chili inside. It’s almost time for Alta Vista Public School’s Chili Night!
Enjoy a warm bowl of chili and help School Council fundraise while you shop at the Scholastic Book Fair and attend Parent Teacher Interviews . We will have meat and vegetarian options, with all the fixings as well.
This year, the Athletic Council and Yearbook committee will also be hosting a bake sale to fundraise for their club initiatives.
Please consider volunteering to contribute a nut-free chili or to help out at the event: sign up to contribute a chili or volunteer. Chilis can be dropped off in a Crock Pot or ready to serve in the school kitchen between 4 and 4:30pm on November 27. Please include a serving spoon. High school student volunteers welcome.
When: Thursday November 27, 4:30-7 pm
Where: Kitchen and Small Gym
Prices (cash only):
$5 a bowl (comes with your choice of fixings and a bun)
Alta Vista School Council is pleased to invite your family to our next Family Movie Night on Friday, November 21.
We’ll be showing Lilo & Stitch (2025), rated PG (1 hour 48 minutes). Doors and concession open at 5:30 pm, and the movie starts at 6 pm!
Admission is free! There will be hotdogs, goodies, and juice boxes for sale as a council fundraiser towards the kindergarten.
In order to keep this event as eco-friendly as we can, we’re encouraging families to bring their own reusable dish ware for their movie night food and snacks. Families are encouraged to bring cups or water bottles that can be refilled in the kitchen.
Children are welcome to wear their PJs and bring blankets, pillows and stuffies to get comfy in the gym. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteers needed!
As always, the movie night organizers are grateful for the support of parent volunteers to help make movie night events a success. To sign up, please contact Dean Blachford.
Please consider bringing nut-free baked goods (homemade or store bought) for the concession by dropping them off at the office on the day of or bringing them to the movie night.
