AVPS School Council Book Fair – Nov.18-20th – Volunteers Required!

Our annual Alta Vista Book Fair, featuring Scholastic and Usborne books, is quickly approaching. The fair will be held Nov.18-20th in the gym.  For more information about fair hours, class visits, teacher wish lists and more please see the documents below.

In order to make the fair a success we need your help. Book Fair volunteers enjoy helping students find appropriate books, help them make their book purchases, meet other parents, get a preview of books, see excited student faces and make this fun annual fundraising event a success.   For more information about volunteer opportunities and hours, please see the book fair volunteer sheet below. You can print it and return it to school with your child  or contact Petra at petra.alince@gmail.com or at 613-523-9198.

The Book Fair is a much anticipated event at Alta Vista, and for every $10 spent, up to $6 goes back to our school in the form of books and educational resources for the library and classrooms.  Your child will be visiting the fair with their class on Wednesday or Thursday.  The fair will also be open on Thursday evening and Friday morning for your convenience.

We hope to see you at the fair!

The AV School Council magazine fundraising campaign is about to kick off and we’d like to share some new ideas to help you make it a success!

QSP has created a wonderful, short video called Time For Reading (http://qspca.weebly.com/timeforreading.html)

It reinforces the message that through the QSP campaign, parents are encouraging the students to be avid readers and learners and that their support benefits the school community as a whole through the funds raised.

1.    SHOP – the catalogue or order online at www.QSP.ca with group ONLINE ID:  3727773
2.    100’s of Magazines, Digital titles, Custom Photo Products & NEW the Discount App available online!
3.    Telling friends and family using your Smart Phone is EASY, or, go to “START HERE” at www.QSP.ca and register to use QSP’s EMAIL and NEW TEXTING feature.
4.    Return online & paper orders (to the Main Office please) on or before TUES, OCT. 13th.

**Cheques are made payable to Alta Vista School Council**
