Show that AVPS spirit with Alta Vista Public School Spirit Wear!
Alta Vista Vipers Spirit Wear comes in hoodies, T-shirts, caps and toques. Great gift ideas or just great to show your AVPS pride! Kids, parents, even grandparents can enjoy Spirit Wear!
Orders will be accepted through the E-Store until midnight on Friday, May 23. The items purchased will be delivered to your child in class.
***PLEASE READ***
- All prices on the E-Store are before tax.
- AVPS will be given 5% of the net total of sales following the end of the campaign – a live dollar amount can be found on the bottom footer of the E-Store platform.
- Please note that there is a live countdown to Store Completion, which ends Friday May 23, 2025 at 11:59pm EST, which should land the products in Ottawa for Wednesday June 18, 2025. Once the store is completed, we will be unable to receive any additional orders until a new campaign begins.
- We will not be able to exchange or refund items after purchase.
- We recommend that you go up at least a size. If you want it to be loose or they can grow into it go up 2 sizes. A little bit big will last them for more years to come at AVPS!
DONATE A TOQUE OR CAP!
Year after year we are able to keep many kids’ heads warm and show that AV Spirit at the same time! What a great way to help out our School Community by purchasing a toque or cap to donate to a child in our school. You can choose this option on the E-store Link.

Spring Fair – May 24
Dear Alta Vista families, the Alta Vista School Council invites you to join us at the school for fun activities, games and treats at our annual spring fair on Saturday, May 24, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Delicious Food, Fun, Games, and Activities!
Rain or shine, we look forward to offering:
- musical cakes and cupcakes
- indoor and outdoor games
- bouncy castle & obstacle course
- face painting
- MarioKart racing
- Pedalheads
- silent auction
- class baskets
- bake sale
- plant sale
- hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza
- cotton candy, popcorn, freezies
- and much more!

Tickets
✨ NEW THIS YEAR – pre-order BBQ food and tickets with School Cash Online from May 5 to May 16. Pre-ordered tickets can be picked up inside the school (Main entrance) on Friday, May 23 from 4-6 or during Spring Fair hours on Saturday. BBQ items, including veggie burgers, can also be purchased with tickets during the fair.
Tickets will also be on available for advance purchase Friday evening at the school (main entrance) between 6:00 – 8:00 pm (cash only).
During Spring Fair hours on Saturday tickets will be on sale (cash only) in the following locations:
- Inside – Main entrance
- Outside – Courtyard, by Door I

We need you!
Organized by a dedicated group of parent volunteers, the Spring Fair is also the largest fundraising event of the year. If you would like to be involved, we are looking for:
- Volunteers: Pick from a variety of shifts (e.g., set up, ticket selling, games and food help) and still have plenty of time to enjoy the fair with your family. We can’t run this event without lots of volunteers!
- Donations: Calling all bakers and gardeners! Looking for cakes and cupcakes for kiddos to win and yummy treats and plants to sell.
- Silent Auction items: Own your own local business? Have gift cards rattling around in a drawer? Unwanted gifts still in the box? Consider donating items to our silent auction.
Funds raised are used to enhance the learning experience of all students at Alta Vista. So join us on May 24, for what is shaping up to be another great event!

Deals on Wheels – April 27
It’s time to declutter your garage and get ready for summer! And we have the event to help make that happen.
School Council is holding its Deals on Wheels event on Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 1 – 4 pm.
Step 1 – Drop Off
Between 1:00 – 1:30 pm, bring in anything on wheels or sports equipment that you want to sell. Please make sure everything is in working order. Drop-off is in the small gym entrance from the outside beside Tennis courts.
We WILL gratefully accept:
-bikes (all sizes kids to adults)
-scooters
-skateboards
-in-line skates
-strollers
-wagons
-sports balls
-baseball gloves/bats
-cleats
-life jackets
Please DO NOT bring:
-helmets
-clothing
Step 2
Name your selling price.
Step 3 – Sale
Between 2 – 3 pm, Deals on Wheels will take place at Alta Vista Public School. This is a cash-only event. It is also first-come, first-serve. No items will be put on hold.
Step 4
If your item is sold, you will receive 70% of the sale price, and the remaining 30% will go to School Council to enrich the learning experience of all AVPS students.
Step 5 – Pick up
Return to the school between 3:30 – 4 pm to retrieve your money or your item. If your item doesn’t sell and you don’t want your item back, please arrange to sell or donate it elsewhere. The gym has to be cleared after the sale and we cannot keep items for later pick up.
