School Council Meeting and AGM

Dear members of the AVPS community, both in-person and remote,

You are warmly invited to attend the virtual Annual General Meeting of Alta Vista Public School’s School Council on Wednesday, Oct. 21st, at 7 pm.

Please RSVP by Oct. 19th to receive the meeting link.

Since AVPS students are learning both remotely and in-person this school year, we want to make it clear that all parents/guardians of students from the AVPS community (remote and in-person) are welcome to become a voting member of School Council. If you would like to become a voting member, please submit the Self-Nomination Form ahead of the Oct. 21st Annual General Meeting. You are also welcome to attend any School Council meeting without being a voting member – the choice is yours!

In addition to becoming a voting member, School Council is made up of four executive positions: Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. At the moment, all four positions have candidates and/or incumbents. If you would like to put your name forward for one of the executive positions, please clearly state your intention on the Self-Nomination Form.

The Oct. 21 agenda and minutes from the June 17 meeting are available for your consideration.

OCDSB Committee of the Whole – Budget (August 18, 2020)

On August 18, 2020, Janice Chamberlain made a delegation to the Board’s Committee of the Whole – Budget as a parent with questions about the return to school.

Her submission outlines return to school questions for Alta Vista Public School, and the delegation starts at 19:40 in the video below.

Postponed: Flavours of the World Potluck Dinner
