Alta Vista School Council is pleased to invite your family to our Family Movie Night on Friday, April 3, 2020 (previously scheduled for February 28).
We’ll be showing Frozen 2, rated PG (1 hour 43 minutes). Doors and concession open at 5:30 pm, and the movie starts at 6 pm!
Admission is free!
We’re excited to be running this event as a fundraiser to support our school’s Grade 8 trip fundraiser. Juice, popcorn, samosas, hot dogs and treats will be offered for sale. We will also be offering coffee and tea for adults at the “parent café” (reusable mugs encouraged).
In order to keep this event as eco-friendly as we can, we’re encouraging families to bring their own reusable dishware for their movie night food and snacks, as well as using the reusable dishware from breakfast club. We’ll also be phasing out the sale of bottled water, and encourage families to bring cups or water bottles that can be refilled in the kitchen.
Children are welcome to wear their PJs and bring blankets, pillows and stuffies to get comfy in the gym. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
As always, the movie night organizers are grateful for the support of parent volunteers to help make movie night events a success. In particular, we’d welcome any bakers who’d like to contribute peanut and nut-free treats or snacks.

Not including days when the school is closed, orders will be served during the first nutrition break at 11:25am.
Proceeds go to School Council to support school programs and the student experience. A worthy cause that reaches every student in the school!
Subs are $4.50 each and can be customized for your student. Choose from ham, turkey or veggie subs served on whole wheat bread, which can be topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and mayonnaise or mustard (but not both).
Subs will not be available to purchase for cash. Please place your order during the online ordering period.
Slices are $2.50 each. You can choose from plain cheese, plain cheese (gluten smart), pepperoni, or vegetarian.
A small amount of pizza will also be available for cash purchase in the kitchen on Fridays. Please note that cash purchases are not available to kindergarten students.
