Gr. 8 Fundraiser for Montreal trip

Alta Vista Public School Grade 8 Montreal Trip

 

Grade 8 students of Alta Vista P. S. will travel to Montreal for an end-of-the-year trip.  The goal is to get every grade 8 student on the trip.  Through fundraising efforts, every student will be able to join us!

Please help us by donating items to our fundraiser!

Please drop off any donations to the front lobby of the school between

February 3 and March 9

We Can Accept the following items:

All items must be clean and in good, clean and sellable condition.

Clothes (bagged) – men’s, women’s and children’s – shoes, fashion accessories, belts, purses, bags, backpacks

Household Textiles (bagged) – blankets, sheets, towels, tablecloths, curtains

Small Household Goods (boxed) – kitchen items, decorative items, knick-knacks, toys and games, small electronics

We Cannot Accept the following items:

Mattresses, large furniture, chemicals, auto parts, tires, flammable material, strollers, car seats, building material and appliances.

Reminder: extension to Pizza Friday and Subway Monday

Subway Monday and Pizza Friday were each extended by one week to compensate when the school was closed for repairs in November. Subway Monday was extended yet another week to account for labour action that took place on a Monday.

For this term, the last Pizza Friday is February 21, and the last Subway Monday is March 2.

Online ordering for next term’s Subway Monday and Pizza Friday will open on February 14. The first Pizza Friday will be February 28, and the first Subway Monday will be March 9. Stay tuned!

Date change: School Council to meet on February 26

Our regularly scheduled February meeting is moved to Wednesday, February 26th to accommodate a scheduling conflict. The agenda and January meeting minutes will follow at a later date.

Date change: Spring Fair Planning Committee Meeting

**Note that the date has changed from Thursday, January 23, 2020 to Tuesday, January, 28th

Join us to plan one of the year’s most beloved events – our Annual Spring Fair. This event is our largest fundraiser and funds many educational and extracurricular programs that our students enjoy throughout the year.

We are looking for assistance in coordinating this amazing event. An information meeting will be held **Tuesday, January, 28th at 7:00 pm** in the school library for anyone who is interested in helping plan and coordinate. There are many different roles and ways you can help. Time requirements are flexible with your schedule and we will work together as a team to make this as easy and fun as possible.
